INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHECK-IN  

                 

Our office is located in Key Largo.  Take US 1 south to Mile Marker 98.88.  Be ready to turn left immediately after Royal Furniture, Dominos, and Mr. C’s Ice Cream which are located in the center median. We are the light blue REMAX office on the left side in the median.  If you are coming from the South, our office is just north of the Moose Lodge. 


Keys and gate cards are to be picked up and dropped off at the office of Upper Keys Rentals located at 98880 Overseas Hwy, Key Largo
unless other arrangements have been made.  There will be a $50/each charge for all keys and gate cards not returned to our office (or placed in the property lock box if you have been instructed to do that).

Check-in time is 3pm. If you are arriving after hours or if our office is closed, we will automatically leave an envelope with your name on it in the Key Box located outside the front door to our office.  

This envelope will include directions & keys to the property you have rented.  If you have reserved a condo with a security gate, we will also enclose a gate card.  The envelope with your name on it will include:

  • Property Keys & gate card (if applicable)
  • Directions to the property

When you get to your property, please note:

  • Don’t turn the a/c below 72 or it will freeze up. 
  • Leave the refrigerator & freezer settings at 5 or they will freeze up and kick the unit into defrost mode.
  • If the unit has a High Efficiency washer, please only use HE laundry soap or the washer will leak.
  • If we have to send an appliance or a/c repairman to the unit and they determine the problem has been caused by your not following these directions, the service call will be your responsibility.
  • We do not guarantee air conditioners, cable TV, internet, plumbing fixtures or appliances.  Sometimes things malfunction right before or during a guests stay.  There will be no refund on their failure.  A service call will be arranged immediately upon notification to Upper Keys Rentals and every reasonable effort will be made to correct or repair the malfunction.
  • Please note that due to the corrosion from salt air and wear and tear from use, we cannot guarantee the condition of BBQ grills if one is located on the rental property.  Clean up of any BBQ grills as well as cooking materials such as charcoal, propane, lighter fluid, etc., is the responsibility of the rental group if a BBQ grill is located on the property. 

Check-out time is 10 am and KEYS ARE TO BE DROPPED OFF AT OUR OFFICE unless you have been instructed to use the lock box at the front door to the property you have reserved.  If the office is closed, please drop your keys and gate card (if applicable) in either the yellow or black box next to the front door of my office.  Failure to return keys to our Key Largo (or the property lock box) will result in a charge of 1 day rental.

If you are bringing a boat to a Condo or townhouse: you must provide proof of $300k in Property Liability insurance prior to arrival.  Failure to provide proper insurance will result in loss of your security deposit and your boat or jet ski will not be allowed on the property.                                          

Please remember to print these instructions and bring them with you so you know what do when you arrive.  After 9pm, there will not be anyone available to call for questions.  If through your own fault, you are not able to access your rental property, you will have to make alternate arrangements for the evening at your own expense.
